Crown Lifts - Case Study, The Wall

VIP Security Parking

Our client was a V.I.P with a security/parking problem. The residence is in a prestigious area of Kensington which is protected by the National Heritage. The front of the house had an area large enough to park a car but the wall which fronted the property was protected by The National Heritage.

Crown Lifts solution was to manufacture a wall, identical to the existing, then engineer an hydraulic system that would allow the wall to drop into the ground as the residents car approached and once safely on the drive the wall would rise again giving security and maintaining the overall aesthetics of the street.

Unusual Project

This was a very unusual project with the goal to enable the V.I.P. client to park in the security of his grounds and at the same time retain the architectural features of the ornate 100 year old stone wall.

A scissor lift mechanism was installed in a water pump sump, 1000 x 7000 and a steel and fibre glass replica of the original wall was manufactured and placed on top of the scissor mechanism.

The wall now rises and falls at the touch of a button, providing safe and secure access to the property.
