Health & Safety

Crown Lifts Limited are fully committed to health and safety in the workplace. We were one of the first companies within the lift industry to achieve OHSAS 18001:1999 which we have integrated into our ISO 9000:2000 manual. Our Health & Safety Policy is as follows:

Policy Statement

The Policy of Crown Lifts Ltd (the Company) is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, plant/equipment, environment and systems of work including the safe storage, transport and usage of hazardous substances for all our employees and other persons who may be affected by our activities.


In discharging our responsibilities, the Company and its Management will comply with all relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and professional advice from our Health and Safety Consultants, who will act as our centre of competence.


The Company similarly requires our employees and subcontractors to recognise their responsibilities with relation to the safety of themselves, other workers and other people who may be affected by their work and to co-operate fully with the Company and its Management in achieving this Policy.


In particular, the Company accepts that it has a responsibility to:-

  • Provide information, training and instructions, where necessary, to enable employees and others to perform their work safely and efficiently.
  • Make available all necessary safety devices and protective equipment and supervise their use.
  • Maintain a constant and continuing interest in Health and Safety matters applicable to the Company's activities.
  • Continually improve our working practices and, as a minimum, review this Policy annually and amend it to take into account any operational changes and business expansion.

The Law

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all associated Regulations are legally binding and any breach of this law may result in prosecution of the Company and/or our employees.
